Film Permits
Welcome to the City of Healdsburg, California - a beautiful destination for filmmakers looking to capture the charm and natural beauty of Wine Country. We are pleased to offer a simple and streamlined process for obtaining a film permit to ensure a smooth production experience in our city.
To apply for a film permit in Healdsburg, please complete a film application and submit to Recreation Supervisor, Matt Milde with the Community Services Department. You will need to provide details about your project, including the type of production, filming dates, and the locations you plan to use.
Application deadline: Applicants must submit a permit application 30 days in advance to allow the time needed to review applications, approve insurance, provide public notification, pay fees, and issue a permit. However, a permit application is necessary 60 days in advance if your production requires a road closure, as City Council approval would be required, and additional fees would apply. Please note that all permit fees are based on the current Master Fee Schedule.
We encourage you to review our film permit information, which outline the requirements for obtaining a permit and any associated fees. A certificate of insurance with endorsement will be required to obtain a permit. In some cases, you will be required to notice surrounding homes or businesses in advance of filming. Our team is happy to assist you throughout the application process and answer any questions you may have.
Healdsburg offers a diverse range of filming locations, from picturesque vineyards and rolling hills to historic downtown streets and beautiful parks.
Thank you for considering Healdsburg for your filming needs. We look forward to working with you to make your project a success.
