The City has adopted a Temporary Art Installation Program which provides artists a streamlined process to bring forward installations proposals to be displayed on a limited or temporary basis.
The City's Public Arts Policy guides the installation of artwork in public spaces for long-term installations. In January 2018, Staff presented an overview of a pilot program to City's Parks and Recreation Commission in January 2018 and launched the program on March 30, 2018.
After twelve months of review and monitoring, the Temporary Art Installation Program transitioned to an an ongoing program in April 2019.
